Prayers made visible; painting made sacred

Intro...Welcome to the structure of my new webssite. I'm currently writing the text, a team of volunteers is looking for a way to make the prayer/paintings available as full-screen slide shows (to toolbars) in the Internet, and we're in search of the right person to help make the site beautiful. Thanks for your patience. Please enjoy what we've done so far...

This new body of art work is a visual offering of prayers and meditations to uplift the spirit and heal the ills of the planet.  Hopefully they'll be a source of calm and grace in these difficult times....

Each piece goes through 3 stages …
  The prayer
The painting, done on reflective paper, as a physical expression of the prayer.
The photography of the prayer/painting, done in different lights, from different angles, is more like choreographing the interactions between the camera, the light, the paper, and my physical movements.

The result is the embodiment of the prayer and the illumination of the painting.

When the light hits the shiny surface of the paper, the process goes to a whole new level, illuminating the painting in a magical, mystical way.

Is it the light devas dancing between the colors, opening the door to another world and transporting us to a place beyond our earthly existence?  Or is it the energy of the prayer itself, finding its own expression? Where is the muse, or the artist, in all of this? And how much is in the eye of the beholder?

Please come back often to see the prayer/paintings as they unfold and join us as we seek answers to these various mysteries of life.

Over the coming weeks I will be adding many of my recent prayer/paintings to the Gallery, and updating with new ones

offering suggestions for how to use these images to bring beauty into the world, as well as to brighten your own environment,

some Reflections, thoughts, and slide shows on the importance of beauty in our lives, thoughts about these new images, and the meaning of life as well as

Photos of the artist at work, a brief bio, and oter snippets of pertinent info about the artist

an Archive of some of my earlier works, and maybe some stories to go along with them

Tributes to my teachers and other inspirations .

I'm hoping to make this an interactive site where we can collaborate and share ideas. Stay tuned. In the meantime, you can send your ideas and suggestions to me at bv@PrayersMadeVisible.com
